Quay Community Improvements, a social enterprise set up by Port of Leith Housing Association last year, has been awarded three new contracts to deliver cleaning services for Muirhouse Housing Association, West Granton Housing Co-Op and Hunters Hall Housing Co-op.
Starting with a stair cleaning service, the new social enterprise will deliver a range of commercial activities with the profits generated being ploughed back into regenerating Leith and nearby neighbourhoods.
Clare Halliday, Business & Communities Initiatives Manager at Quay Community Improvements, said: “All the team at Quay are thrilled to see our client list grow to include West Granton Housing Co-Op, Muirhouse Housing Association and Hunters Hall Housing Co-op. As our business grows, we’re looking forward to supporting the development of community projects that will help to make Leith an even better place for people to live, visit and do business.”
Ainan Groat, Housing Services Team Leader at Muirhouse Housing Association, said:“We are delighted to be working with Quay to deliver our stair and area cleaning service. We look forward to improving the service to our customers and also being able to demonstrate social value and giving something back to our community.”
Nick Dangerfield, Director at Hunters Hall Housing Co-op Ltd, said: “We chose Quay because when we re-tendered our cleaning contract, they offered us a good price with the promise of an excellent service. It is early days, but all is going well so far and we hope to work successfully with Quay for a number of years to provide a value for money stair cleaning service for our tenants.”
