Spartans Community Football Academy are hosting a sportsday for local primary schools on Wednesday 24th May. This is the fourth year of this annual event and primary 7s from Craigroyston, Forthview, Pirniehall, St David’s and Ferryhill primaries are all set to attend.
Over 200 local children will take part in taster sessions of activities including football, rugby, athletics and Fet-lor Granton Youth Centre are providing a mountain biking course.
Spartans offer this event to help P7s prepare for the transition to High School and to encourage wider participation in new sports outwith school.
Spartans Academy Alternative School S3 and S4 students will be assisting at the Sportsday to help them develop their skills in communication and leadership with a view to passing their Steps to Work SQA qualification later in the year.
Staff from Edinburgh Leisure, Nike Store and Spartans Community Football Academy among others will also be supporting events and activities on the big day.
