NHS 24 is reminding people to take extra care of their health as the dark evenings draw in and days get shorter. This weekend, the clocks go back one hour marking the end of British Summer Time.
NHS 24’s Medical Director Professor George Crooks said: “While everyone is sure to enjoy an extra hour in bed, the clock change is a reminder to everyone to look after your physical and mental health.
“As the days get darker, we often lack vitamin D and our immune system becomes prone to colds and flu. The clocks going back may also disturb sleeping patterns, especially if insomnia is already a problem.
