Volunteers from PoLCAT and Mitie Painting, the UK’s largest painting contractor, pitched in to help repaint the hall. They included Mitie’s famous mascot Mitie Mouse, office staff, foreman painter and a new apprentice who had successfully completed Port of Leith’s TOiL trainee programme.

Dawn Baxter, Admin Manager at The Ripple Project, said: “Many thanks to all of the PoLCAT and Mitie teams for their time and effort given to the Ripple Project.  You have brightened our day – walls, skirting, doors.  Especially the doors!”

Jamie Connolly, Mitie Edinburgh Painting Branch Manager, commented: “Mitie is delighted to be able to help make a difference. It was great for us to spend time with some of the PoLCAT team and it was fantastic for one of our apprentices to start his first day at a PoLHA event after joining us from the TOiL programme.”

Claire Ironside, Customer Services Director at PoLHA, added:

“We enjoyed helping out this local community project with Mitie’s expert guidance.”

Thanks to Mitie for their help, providing expert guidance, paints, equipment and some very fetching dungarees.
