Referendum count and Elton John events mean temporary closure
Meadowbank Sports Centre will be temporarily closed for events taking place from 23 – 25 June. Some areas of Meadowbank will also be closed before and after the events for set up and ‘break-down’.
The events taking place are the Referendum count, which will be taking place on Thursday, 23 June, closely followed by the Sir Elton John concert on Saturday 25 June.
Jo Mathieson, Venue Manager at Meadowbank said: “We realise that the temporary closures will inconvenience some of our customers but our members will be upgraded to a full fitness membership from Sunday, 11 June until Sunday, 26 June inclusive, which will allow them to use all of Edinburgh Leisure’s other facilities across the city for a gym, swim or fitness class visit, meaning they can continue to stay active with us.
“With 10 swimming pools, 15 gyms, and over 700 fitness classes per week, Edinburgh Leisure really is the biggest club in town and it will be the perfect opportunity to experience all the other wonderful facilities we have across the city.”
