There’s a scarred, empty wall at the entrance to the Muirhouse Library, where a piece of art used to be … it’s been a blank canvas for a while, but Arcadeum’s Art Billboard project is bringing this empty space back to life!
Earlier this month the wall became a vibrant billboard gallery, and over the coming months the space will display a changing series of large poster artworks and bringing local artistic expression into the heart of the community.
First ‘poster boy’ was Albert Einstein, no less, and he’s now been followed by a beautiful image of Granton’s last gasometer (below) provided by Muirhouse Library’s photography group.
What’s up next? That’s down to you!
We are looking for local groups or individuals to contribute suggestions for billboard artworks, which could be text, photographs, drawings, graphic designs or digital designs.
Arcadeum has a curatorial group who will review all contributions and work with the contributors to prepare their design ideas for printing a presenting on the Art Billboard.
