Countdown to super sportsday at Spartans

Going for gold at Spartans Olympics

Spartans CFA

Spartans Community Football Academy are hosting a Sportsday for local primary schools on Wednesday 25 May. This will be the third year of this annual event and Granton, Craigroyston, Pirniehall, St David’s and Flora Stevenson P7s will all take part.

Over 200 local children will experience taster sessions in golf, judo, volleyball, track and field, tennis and football, and Fet-Lor Granton Youth Centre is also providing a mountain biking course.

Spartans offer this event to allow the P7s to prepare for the transition to High School and to allow the children to experience different sports in a bid to encourage them to join new sports clubs outwith school.

Spartans Academy Alternative School pupils will be assisting at the Olympics event, which will provide an opportunity to further develop skills in communication and leadership with a view to passing their Steps to Work SQA qualification.

Staff from Edinburgh Leisure, Scottish Volleyball, Fencing Fun, Nike Store, Edinburgh Judo and Spartans Community Football Academy will also be supporting events and activities on the big day.
