Not only is he renowned for his letter writing, Tony (Mr NEN) Delahoy is also known to a select few as a wonderful jam maker.
Ross Hamilton has been addicted to Tony’s jam since childhood, so when Ross grew up to be a brewer of fine ales it was inevitable that he would incorporate that favourite childhood flavour into one of his craft beers.
The latest beer in Ross’s Edinbrew range was unveiled at the Blue Blazer in Bread Street on Friday evening. The new brew, a Porter, features Tony’s jam recipe and it’s been named … you’ve guessed it, Tony’s Jam!
The beautifully smooth newcomer went down a treat with customers and among the first in the queue to taste the welcome addition to the Edinbrew range was Tony himself.
So not content with being a Chevalier of the Legion D’Honneur, our Tony now has a beer named after him! Whatever next?
Well done Ross and congratulations, Tony: we’ll drink to that!
