Mascots meet at Easter Road
Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network’s mascot Doogie Goodstuff, who promotes all great social enterprise products and service across the city with the Buy The Good Stuff campaign – lined up for a fun penalty shoot-out with fellow social enterprise mascots at Hibs’ Easter Road stadium yesterday.
Joining Doogie in the social kickabout was Hibs mascot Sunshine – the Leith Lynx, Partick Thistle’s Kingsley, The Spartans Sparry the Squirrel and Glasgow City Ladies FC Trixie the Tiger.
The mascots lined up for a penalty shoot-out in a bid to raise awareness of sports social enterprises and football fun across the city and Scotland.
New CEO of ESEN, Claire Pattullo said: “Joining with some of our top football teams at Hibs’ football ground is helping raise awareness of our sport social entrepreneurs and the feel good factor around communities, local football and sport generally. There are a significant number of social enterprises in the city which focus on sporting activities and they make a huge contribution to health, communities and making society a better place.”
Laura Montgomery, Project Manager of HIBS Gamechanger PSP, added: “We are delighted to host the mascots today at our fun penalty match and highlight Social Enterprise. Our engagement with Sports and Health Social Enterprises and Community Groups through the development of the Gamechanger PSP will extend our facilities for fans and families, ultimately benefiting the whole community around us.”
And the shootout competition winner? Well, as we all know – with social enterprise everyone’s a winner!
