Prentice Centre ‘overwhelmed’ by community support

Great response to threatened Centre’s call for support

I have attached a few photographs from the evening which, sorry, I could only take at one angle as the hall was so packed out: I had to take it from the back, standing in the kitchen!

The support on the night was great with over 100 people turning up.  There was many local people there who use the centre varying from playgroup parents, line dancers, people who come to zumba gold, our over 50’s Happy Club, art class, computing class, our Intro to Scottish Theatre/TV and comedy class and also Councillors Cammy Day, Lesley Hinds, Steve Cardownie and Vicky Redpath.

Organisations Dads Rock, North West Carers & Alzheimer Scotland were also in attendance and there were also many local people there who may not use the centre at present but came to show their support – we were overwhelmed with the turnout.

At the end of the meeting the Councillors all stated that they were very optimistic that the funding for the centre will be found.  There will be a follow-up public meeting to see if that is the case.
