What’s top to do for tots?

PLAYTALKREAD WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Bobby before his 'nose job'

Do you enjoy feeding the ducks at the pond in Inverleith Park, playing mini golf at Bruntsfield Links with your wee one or reading the next destination when you’re on the tram together?  PlayTalkRead is calling for you to vote for top things for tots to do in Edinburgh and Lothians before voting closes on 13 December.

Parents and carers can vote from the 30 Things To Do in Edinburgh and Lothians list, which includes top playing, talking and reading activities to do with your wee one, by simply visiting www.playtalkread.scot/30things, selecting Edinburgh and Lothians and voting from the 30 activities listed.

Everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw to win a bumper box of PlayTalkRead prizes worth £250.

Created with the help of parents across Scotland, the list includes activities such as digging for treasure in the sandpit at The Meadows playpark, listening to the sound of the sea through a shell on Portobello beach and reading about the birds at Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve.

Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell said: “PlayTalkRead is all about enjoying time together with your wee one to help their brains grow. It doesn’t need to involve lots of toys or extra equipment – the 30 Things To Do in Edinburgh and Lothians list offers lots of free ideas that have been suggested by parents and carers across Scotland, so it is truly by parents and for parents.

“As a mum of two young children I know first-hand how difficult it can be to find new and exciting activities for the kids to enjoy so by voting for your favourite activity not only allows you to have your say for your local area, but you might discover some fun new ideas too.”

Once the results are in, PlayTalkRead will share the top things to do in Edinburgh and Lothians, as voted for by parents and carers.

www.playtalkread.scot has loads of ideas for fun, simple and free activities to enjoy together. You can also visit the PlayTalkRead Facebook page or follow PlayTalkRead on Twitter for lots of handy tips and advice:
