Saturday’s Blackhall Mosque Family Fun Day has been cancelled following yesterday’s small fire, Inverleith Green Councillor Nigel Bagshaw (pictured below) has reported on Twitter.
“Thank you for the constructive correction, NEN values its credibility and your help is appreciated” would be the expected response from a professional journalist.
Furthermore “cancelled” is not correct in this context, my OED tells me that postponed would be appropriate (“Saturday’s Family Day has been cancelled(sic) due to the fire. The event will be rearranged for another date” according to the EH4 & Mosque FB pages).
That clears that up then, thanks Dave. You broke the news, so take the credit, Cllr Bagshaw can do his own PR quite well himself.
If only The Thomas Brown Affair would only fess up to his fails as promptly as you do.
Nothing to do with Thomas Brown, I’m afraid – the mistake was all mine, thinking about too many things, trying to do two things at once and then failing miserably!
One day I will get the hang of this new technology, but in the meantime can I apologise for he upset I have clearly caused over breaking the news of the cancellation of the Fun Day. Never can news about a Fun Day have been less fun (or generated that much interest, to be honest).
Is Nigel Bagshot acting as consultant now-has Tam Brown been replace?
So NEN tweeted this to @NigelBagshaw and then reported it as if Nigel Bagshaw had tweeted it originally! C’mon. Do you really need a Councillor to add gloss by passing off your news as his? (He didn’t even bother re-tweeting it… yet.) #credibility #alltimelow
Again poor reporting, NEN ;-(
Search https://twitter.com/nigelbagshaw and there is no mention of Mosque nor Family Fun Day
C’mon NEN, lets have some real journalism where research is done first hand and verified.
