75 year old woman mugged in Drylaw

A seventy-five year old woman has been mugged at the entrance to Ferryhill Primary School on Groathill Road North. The incident happened at about 6pm on Sunday night.

A Police spokseperson said “A seventy-five year old female had her handbag snatched from her with such force it caused her to fall to the ground. As a result of this fall the elderly lady has sustained serious injuries which have resulted in her having to be admitted to Hospital.

Officers of Lothian and Borders Police are appealing to the public to help them identify the male responsible who is described as being in his early twenties, six feet tall with a skinny build, wearing dark clothing and a cream coloured hat.”

Officers were at the scene until about 10.30pm and carried out a thorough search of the area.

  1. This is quite scary and it does make you feel scared to leave your own house. The person who did this is very sick. I always wonder what kind of world we are living in. The woman must be so scared to go out on her own now. I read in the Evening News that she helped a lot in the community and this is the thanks she gets for it. The person who did this to this woman should think about how they’d feel if it was their own mother or granny this happened to but i guess people are just selfish and don’t care. I hope the person who did this gets caught very soon and the person gets a long time in jail. The person who did this needs to sort their life out!

  2. Unbelievable I knew this poor woman she does a lot for the community and this is what she gets back for it! The person who done Is SICK ! I live in drylaw and I’m young too and just because you’re young doesn’t mean you have the right to go around mugging people ! Get youre life sorted out!

  3. come on drylaw, how many women are to go through this, before you really do something, happened to my sister a month ago, and an old man i heard of, bloody getting scared to go out!!!

    1. this is out of order what they should is let me in a room with them and they will not walk ouy of it i hope that some 1 will grass on them how would they like it if it was hjs mother or granny but people like that dont care

WHAT KIND OF WORLD R WE LIVING IN DOES THE SCUM OF THE EARTH KNOW WHAT THEY R DOING NOT ONLY PHISICALLY 2 THESE PEOPLE BUT MENTALLY BEING A SOCIAL CARE WORKER IN THIS AREAWOKING WITH THE ELDERLY I AM SEEING THIS FIRST HAND NOT ONLY 4 THE VICTIM BUT ALL THE ELDERLY IN TH COMMMUNITY THIS KIND OF BEHAIVOUR IS SICK AND THE PEOPLE WHO R COMMITING THESE KIND OF ASSOULTS SHOULD BE HUNG BRING HANGING BACK
