A charity worker got the surprise of a lifetime when she was told she had won a new car after taking part in the Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk in Edinburgh. ENABLE’s Nicole Forsyth is the fourth and final Kiltwalker this year to win a shiny new Renault Clio, thanks to platinum sponsor Arnold Clark.
The 30-year-old made her Kiltwalk debut in Edinburgh this month, completing the 12-mile Big Stroll for ENABLE Scotland, alongside supporters, members and colleagues.
Team Facilitator Nicole was thrilled to receive the shock news from the Kiltwalk team. She said: “They pretended it was an ordinary meeting so I couldn’t believe it when I was told I’d won a car. I’ll definitely be driving my new car to work from now on!
“I helped hand out balloons, medals and flags at the Glasgow Kiltwalk earlier this year as there were lots of people from ENABLE Scotland taking part. The event was amazing so I signed-up for the Big Stroll in Edinburgh straight away!
“We know the huge impact fundraising can have on people’s lives and I’ll definitely take part again next year!”
With a Renault Clio being donated by Europe’s largest independent car dealer at every Kiltwalk this year, three other Kiltwalkers from across Scotland are enjoying a brand new car.

- Sunday, 19 August from St. Andrews to Dundee
- Sunday, 16 September in Edinburgh
For every penny raised by a Kiltwalker in 2017, Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation pledged 140% to their chosen charity. This unique fundraising boost will continue next year.
The unstoppable army of Kiltwalkers raised a staggering £1,642,000 before the 40% top-up was applied in 2017 for their chosen charities, bringing the total contribution to £2.3million – with money still coming in. Funds raised by those who choose to walk for the Kiltwalk itself are distributed through the STV Children’s Appeal.
