People in Edinburgh are being asked to vote for a local mum to help her win a national award for the teething jewellery that she makes at home.
Num Num Teething Jewellery, founded by Edinburgh mum, Jen Downie, has been nominated in the “Best handmade gift under £50” category in the Loved By Parents (LBP) awards, one of the largest and most trusted parenting awards programmes worldwide.

and closes at midnight on 19 July.
The nomination for the LBP Award comes just a month after Jen was nominated for two “Mumii Awards” for Best “Teething Jewellery” and “Baby Wearing Accessory”.
The business, setup almost 2 years ago has gone from strength to strength, with online sales increasing and Num Num products now stocked in 15 shops across the UK, including Kiddiecare one of the largest retailers in the country, as well as in three outlets in Edinburgh, Pippin at Haymarket, Willow Boutique in Stockbridge and Maddie & Marks in Blackhall.
Num Num’s teething necklaces come in a variety of designs, assembled by hand, and are practical, fun and beautiful for mums to wear. The beads used are made from squeezable food-grade silicone (the same material as a dummy or bottle teat) which is flexible yet firm. It is perfect for chewing on as it provides a firm and satisfying chew for babies while being kind to tender gums.
As a mum with a new baby herself, safety is very important to Jen. The beads are fully tested and meet European safety standards.
