A group of Edinburgh College Events students are planning a fun quiz for older people at Muirhouse Milennium Community Centre later this month.
The students have formed their own ‘company’, Step Up Events, to organise and run the event, and Stwp Up’s finance manager Jay Duncan explained: “This is a social engagement event focusing on older people in the local community – the main aim is to provide an event that will allow older people to socialise and interact for the day.
“The event itself is a Good Old Day’s Quiz covering the genres 50’s,60’s,70’s and 80’s. The hope is the nostalgic theme will be a great talking point of memories.
“There will also be tea, cake and coffee and a raffle. Many of the prizes have come from local businesses such as Javits takeaway or as far as The Scottish Borders. All proceeds made will be donated back to the Millennuim Centre to continue the great work they do.”
