Science Festival gets off to an explosive start at St David’s!

Edinburgh International Science Festival, powered by EDF Energy, visited St David’s R.C. Primary School on Monday to give a hand in launching the school’s Science Week to show how much fun learning about STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) can be. It involved some thrilling experiments that saw the pupils learn how rockets work by launching their own made from balloons and bottles! North Edinburgh Arts to open for CAN market event this morning

North Edinburgh Arts will be open for reduced hours today to enable the Community Action North event to go ahead in the morning (above) and have the cafe open for a while.

However Gentle Exercise, the Arts Strategy event in the afternoon and North Edinburgh Theatre group in the evening are POSTPONED.

Muirhouse Youth Development Group’s annual general meeting, also scheduled to take place at North Edinburgh Arts this afternoon, has been POSTPONED until further notice.

Pennywell All Care Centre: what’s in that shiny new building?

Pennywell All Care Centre (formerly North West Partnership Centre) opened to the public on 18th December and will be officially opened later this month. The new Centre will provide a range of health and social care services, including new GP accommodation (Muirhouse Medical Group has opened a new branch surgery to complement their Muirhouse Avenue practice), podiatry and child health services. Take three girls: LIFT exhibition

Three local women staged an exhibition of their artwork at Madelvic House on Saturday. Dee, Johan and are all involved in the Low Income Families Together (LIFT) project based at Muirhouse Millennium Community Centre.

The event proved to be a great success, and the women plan to follow it up with another exhibition in the Millennium Centre later this month.
