Over sixty of Edinburgh’s most inspring volunteers are to be honoured by Frank Ross, Rt. Hon. Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, at a special awards ceremony tomorrow during #VolunteersWeekScotland. Tenants and Residents up for National Excellence award

A local tenants and residents association has been short-listed for an award at next month’s Tenants Information Service (TIS) Annual Excellence Awards. Tenants and Residents in Muirhouse & Friends of West Pilton (TRIM & FOWP) are finalists in the tenants and residents organisation of the year category and have been invited to attend the TIS National Excellence Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Glasgow on 10th June. Five star Usher Hall is out of this world!

Its 100-year-career boasts sell out shows from the Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash and Ella Fitzgerald – but the real stars of the Usher Hall can be found off stage. Staff at Edinburgh’s flagship music venue are celebrating a 5* review for the sixth year in a row from Scotland’s national tourism body, VisitScotland. National award for caring Janet


A devoted pensioner who became her husband’s 24-hour carer after a stroke left him with a life changing brain injury has been named runner-up in the Carer of the Year national awards. Penicuik pensioner Janet Malcolm was recognised at an annual awards ceremony organised by Headway, the brain injury association, at London’s Dorchester Hotel last Friday. Lifetime achievement award for Charlie Miller

Hairdressing legend Charlie Miller OBE was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fellowship for British Hairdressing at it’s annual Luncheon & Awards at London’s Dorchester Hotel this week. The latest honour makes it a remarkable ‘hat-trick’, with Charlie having previously received both the ‘Fellow with Honours’ and ‘Fellow with Distinction’ awards.
