  1. Hello there!

This is Melanie and I am a professional photographer.

I was surprised, to put it nicely, when I came across my images at your website. If you use a copyrighted image without my consent, you need to be aware that you could be sued by the owner.

It’s against law to use stolen images and it’s so disgusting!

Take a look at this document with the links to my images you used at nen.press and my earlier publications to get evidence of my copyrights.

Download it now and check this out for yourself:

    https://sites.google.com/site/case000391/googledrive/share/downloads/file/storage?ID=6956828193886

If you don’t remove the images mentioned in the document above within the next several days, I’ll write a complaint on you to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.

And if it doesn’t work, you may be pretty damn sure I am going to report and sue you! And I will not bother myself to let you know of it in advance.

  2. Hi, is there anyway the public can get access to your papers archive? I’m looking for an article that was printed from 1999?

    1. Hi Kevin

When the NEN office on Crewe Road North closed down, old copies of the newspaper were taken to the National Library on George IV Bridge and another set was delivered to the National Library Archives at Causewayside. Closer to home, Granton History Group has some back copies down at Madelvic House, but not a full set. Could be woth checking there too. Good luck with your search!

  3. Do you still publish newspaper? Or is it just online now? We used to get it delivered to lower granton road. But no more, i always enjoyed it. Thanks

    1. Hi Elizabeth, thanks for getting in touch. The last print edition of the NEN was produced in February 2015, but it’s really touching to hear just how many local people miss their community paper. Whenever communication and information sharing is discussed at local community meetings, the NEN’s name always comes up and it’s recognised that not everyone has access to digital technology. I can let you know that talks are ongoing, meetings are planned and I hope to be able to share some good news over the coming weeks. Watch this space!

  4. Is the Easter Drylaw Residents Association (EDRA) only on Mondays 7-9pm?

I live in this community but also study a relevant subject to public policy; therefore, would like to take part in the subsequent meetings. However, I work every Monday and Tuesday is there an alternative day that runs or how else can one participate?

    Many thanks
    Alicja B

    1. Hi Alicja, I’m afraid Easter Drylaw Residents Association is no longer active. If you are interested in community activities in Drylaw, can I suggest you consider being part of Drylaw Telford Community Council? I can ask the secretary to add you to the mailing list if you would like further information?

  5. Can you tell me how I find out if my nomination for the Radio Forth Awards has been received please? I was interrupted as I was completing it and I’m not sure if it was sent successfully. Thank you. Margaret Quinn. Nomination: Iain McKendry

  6. I write with reference to the recent tribute to ny late great uncle Allan E. Ker VC.

I was very pleased to see that there had been a commemoration to him in Edinburgh and would very much like to be in touch with and thank all those involved.

I live in London, but am often up in East Lothian.

  7. To the editor of nen I wrote to you a while back and received a message saying that someone would be in touch but as yet nobody has I would like to make public the complete and utter shambles that 21st century homes and the council have made of the regeneration in pennywell and muirhouse but it seems you are reluctant to hear hour side of the story of how they have destroyed businesses and ruined people’s lives and are getting away with it the truth needs to be heard about these thieves in suits and the residents need to know that they are solely responsible for the destruction of muirhouse shopping centre

  8. Morning do you rent tables for your craft fair. I would be interested in a table. I am a dressmaker but also do craft and knitting. Thank you. Anne

  9. Just wanted to let you know you are celebrating enviromental vandalism as some kind of hero-ism. Challenge Ragnarok is highly illegal and so incredibly bad for my beautiful country that can’t heal from off-roading. For example a single banana peel left in the highland in Iceland will take about 25 years to decompose!
Shame on you for celebrating these foolish men that are having fun ruining my childrens nature

  10. Strawberry and tattie planting weekend at West Pilton Community Garden, 5th& 6th May between 1-3pm

This Saturday and Sunday everyone is welcome to come along and help plant up another bit our new garden. Some beds have been built by volunteers for strawberries and an area has been turfed for tatties but needs a bit of digging first.
Come along for a blether or to help practically if you want to. We have a few tools but bring a fork if you have one and wear your wellies.

    Kirsty
