Muirhouse Medical Group Too!
Muirhouse Medical Group is to open an additional branch within the newly completed Pennywell All Care Centre (PACC) from 1st February. The surgery will join other services based in the new building in Pennywell Gardens, including a dental practice, Social Work, physiotherapy, health visitors and CAMHS, amongst others.
Muirhouse Medical Group Practice Manager, Roderick Wylie, commented: “There have been many rumours about Muirhouse Medical Group moving to the new building, but we are staying at 1 Muirhouse Avenue in addition to opening the new branch within PACC.
“All the GP’s, Nurses and Reception staff will continue to be based at the main surgery, and will take it in turns to be located in the new branch. When patients contact us for an appointment we will let them know whether the appointment will be at the main surgery at Muirhouse, or the branch at Pennywell”.
Roderick said that some midwife appointments will also be provided from the new branch, and registrations of new patients would take place at the Pennywell branch each weekday morning from 9.30 am until noon; and at the main Muirhouse surgery from 12.30 pm to 5 pm.
He explained: “We feel this will give patients a better service as undoubtedly the Muirhouse surgery has become very busy due to the increase in the local population due to the many housing developments. If anyone has any concerns or questions please contact the surgery and we will do our best to help.
