Police appeal following Muirhouse knifepoint robbery

Police are appealing for information after an assault and robbery in Muirhouse. The incident happened around 3.10pm last Friday (24 November) outside the Day 2 Day store on Pennywell Road.

A 45-year-old man was threatened by two men, one of whom was holding a knife, who demanded his wallet. The suspects made off with the victim’s wallet in the direction of Muirhouse Avenue and officers are now appealing for witnesses to trace those responsible.

Both of the suspects are described as white, between 30-35-years-old, 5ft 10ins tall and of heavy build.

Detective Constable Peter Lyons from Corstorphine CID said: “Fortunately the victim was uninjured as a result but has been left understandably shaken.

“The area was busy with passing traffic and pedestrians at the time and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows who is responsible. Anyone who recognises the description of the suspects or who has information about the incident is asked to contact police immediately.”

Those with information are asked to contact officers at Corstorphine CID via 101, quoting incident number 2345 of 24 November, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
