A new campaign to recruit up to 11,000 people into the childcare profession is underway. The campaign – ‘Shape their worlds. Shape your career.’ – aims to encourage more school leavers into the profession to deliver the expansion of funded early learning and childcare to 1,140 hours a year, or 30 hours per week, by 2020. Local MSP goes on patrol and hails Operation Myriad success

Impressive results following two week crime blitz

Edinburgh Northern and Leith MSP went on patrol with North West area commander Chief Inspector Stevie Sutherland on Friday to see first-hand the efforts being made to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in North Edinburgh through the Operation Myriad initiative. Fifty-three people were arrested during the crime crackdown, and both the police officer and the local politician thanked the local community for their support throughout the campaign. Police appeal following handbag robberies

Police are appealing for information following two robberies in the north of Edinburgh where the victims had their handbags stolen. While the robberies took place within two hours of each other, and two men were involved in each robbery, police do not believe the incidents are linked.
