Knifepoint robbery at Stenhouse Cross

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a convenience store in Stenhouse yesterday.

At around 12.15pm on Tuesday 12th September a man entered Nadeem’s Store on Stenhouse Cross and threatened staff with a knife before stealing a cleaning product and leaving.

The man is described as white, 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot tall, around 25 years old, of slim build, with dark stubble and was wearing a thin black quilted jacket over a dark hooded top, a dark coloured baseball cap, dark trousers and white trainers. He was carrying an orange polythene carrier bag.

Detective Constable Kevin Walls of the Violence Reduction Unit at Corstorphine CID said: “This was a frightening incident for staff and officers quickly attended and searched the area but the man was not located. The man was seen to enter the shop earlier at about 10.55am and again at 11.05am so may have been loitering in the area prior to the robbery.”

Contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1363 of Tuesday 12th September or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
