The granton:hub Tuesday Art Club in painting & drawing is tutored by local Granton artist Gareth Hutchison. The course start date is on 4th April (1 – 3pm) for four weeks.
The Tuesday afternoon Art Club is designed for adults of all ages and abilities. For beginners or art enthusiasts interested to learn new or existing skills in painting & drawing. Practice at your own leisure or just relax in a creative and friendly space. The art club will help you get started and develop your creative talent and art projects. No previous experience necessary.
Gareth Hutchison is fully qualified and practising artist, with over 8 years of experience successfully teaching both adult education art courses and private classes. The new Granton:Hub Art Club has been developed as a self-directed art program, working at your own pace to build confidence, deciding on your own themes and art materials.
Gareth will be at hand to give one-to-one expert advice, practical guidance and personal demonstrations throughout. Helping you develop your painting or drawing skills and understanding key observation techniques through visual expression and interpretation.
Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting within a variety of materials of your choice, from pencils, pastels/charcoal, watercolour to acrylics. Try out new painting and drawing methods or styles for your own pleasure and enjoyment, with helpful constructive feedback and positive encouragement. Madelvic House is a relaxing and friendly place, always supporting your art activity with a cup of tea.
granton:hub Tuesday Art Club is for both beginners or intermediate levels of all Adult ages. No experience necessary, only the wiliness to try something new.
Materials needed: We will provide some basic materials when and if required on a weekly bases. Please bring your own watercolour A3 pad/paper, small range of brushes for painting with Acrylics or Watercolours, and/or pencils with A3 sketch pad, if you have them. Gareth will give advice on your first day where to buy art materials at affordable prices and what to buy.
Art Projects: Bring your own projects or themes to work on each week. Gareth will help you every step of the way and support any projects you wish to try. If your unsure, Gareth will provide extra project themes or advice to get you started. Themes can range from still life, portraits and people, landscapes/seascapes, cityscapes, buildings, boats, nature, abstract to realist etc.
Spaces on the course is limited to 10 students. Price of the course is part of an introductory April & May discounted offer.

Wheelchair Access: Madelvic House has limited access for Wheelchair users. Although granton:hub takes every step to be inclusive and accessible to all members of the public. Currently, granton:hub at Madelvic House (B-listed building) can not guarantee ease of use or full access to all wheelchair users without further additional changes being made to the front door and toilet areas of building. *Granton:Hub or course tutor (acting as representative) reserves the right on commencement of course or workshop, to ask any attendees or participants to show prove of entitlement to either state benefit(s) or pension if a ‘concession’ payment is made online.
