MY Adventure team keep their promise to North Edinburgh
Last year MY Adventure ran a hugely successful Crowdfunder campaign (http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/towford) to renovate an old school house in the Scottish Boarders for the children, young people and the families of North Edinburgh to spend time in a truly wonderful location.
Since then over 500 people have stayed at the centre and experienced it’s magic. During the crowdfunding campaign we were honoured when the Mikaeel Kular fund donated £3000, via Tenants & Residents In Muirhouse (TRIM)towards our project. In return we promised to build a play park in his memory.
We are delighted to share with you all that the play park has now been installed into the grounds of Towford Outdoor Education Centre and is a fantastic addition to the site. The planning and construction of the Mikaeel Kular Memorial Play Park could not have possible it without the support of the staff from @MYDG, State Street Global Advisors volunteers andAnderson Strathern Solicitors volunteers.
Over the winter months we will be continuing to develop Towford Outdoor Education Centre and in the spring will be inviting Mikaeel’s class mates to Towford to experience the park for themselves!
We have been awarded funding from Social Investment Scotland (https://nen.press/2015/07/14/my-set-to-grow-with-25000-grant/) to help us plan for the future. We want Towford to be a true asset to the community of North Edinburgh and are working incredibly hard to make this happen. Over the winter we aim to make huge steps forward in our understanding of what Towford could mean to people and how best to go about achieving this.

We will be asking for your input into the site and running trips down to the Boarders.
