Scottish artist goes the extra acre for St Columba’s

An exhibition by a renowned Scottish artist is to take place in a Goldenacre charity bookshopJohn F Martin painting

John F Martin, whose work is held in collections all over the world, will display a collection of his paintings at the St Columba’s Hospice bookshop on Montagu Terrace in Goldenacre this week.

John was educated at the Glasgow School of Art and was presented with the Newbery Medal. He has lived in the Scottish Borders since the early 1970s and his work focuses on scenes from his travels around Scotland.

The exhibition will feature John’s paintings, which are all for sale, with all original paintings available for £65 or less. A percentage of money from the sale of the paintings will be donated to St Columba’s Hospice, which provides specialist end-of-life palliative care to people from the city and the Lothians.

The preview evening is on Thursday 19 November from 5.3pm-7.30pm. The exhibition runs from Friday 20 – Thursday 26 November, 10am – 4pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm – 4pm on Sunday.
